Aduro Clean Technologies Europe Signs MOU with Ortessa Groep BV to Advance FOAK Plant Feedstock Logistics
Aduro Clean Technologies Europe has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Ortessa Groep BV, a Dutch logistics and trading company, to cooperate on developing the feedstock supply chain for a planned first‑of‑a‑kind (FOAK) hydrochemolytic (HCT) plant. The collaboration aims to design and implement logistics solutions for collecting, preprocessing, and delivering plastic waste to the HCT conversion facility.
The HCT process, developed by Aduro, converts mixed plastic waste into hydrocarbon products using water‑based chemistry at elevated temperature and pressure. Securing a reliable and cost‑effective feedstock stream is critical for the technology’s commercial viability. Ortessa Groep BV brings expertise in bulk commodity logistics, waste stream management, and international trade to the partnership.
Under the MOU, the parties will conduct feasibility studies, map regional waste streams, and explore contract structures that ensure consistent material quality and volume. The work will inform the engineering design of the FOAK plant, which Aduro intends to locate in Europe to serve local markets and demonstrate the technology at scale.
While the announcement does not disclose a timeline for construction or expected capacity, both companies view the MOU as a necessary step toward de‑risking the feedstock logistics component of the HCT value chain. Successful alignment of supply and conversion capabilities could enable the plant to produce circular feedstocks for the chemical industry, reducing reliance on fossil‑based naphtha and lowering the carbon footprint of downstream products.
