Fiber Closures Price Parity L'Oréal L'Accelerator Screw Caps Sweden

Blue Ocean Closures from Sweden has hit a milestone: its fiber-based screw caps are now cost-competitive with conventional plastic closures. The price parity problem — long the biggest barrier to sustainable packaging alternatives — is solved.

What Makes BOC Different

BOC’s fiber-based closures run on existing filling lines — no retooling needed. They’re compatible with paper recycling streams, making them a mono-material solution. That’s exactly what the new EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) is pushing for.

Major Brands On Board

L’Oréal has selected Blue Ocean Closures for its €100 million L’Accelerator program. The program identifies and scales sustainable innovation across the beauty giant’s entire supply chain. Live Puri, a premium nutraceutical brand, has also adopted BOC’s NutraCap fiber closures.

Recognition

BOC was named a Gold Startup on NyTeknik’s prestigious 33-list — one of Sweden’s most important technology startup rankings.
