Inteplast Group, a global leader in the manufacturing of integrated plastics and films, has officially announced the acquisition of STA, a specialized manufacturer known for its high-performance sustainable over-laminates and coating technologies. The strategic move, finalized on February 12, 2026, marks a significant step in Inteplast’s efforts to vertically integrate advanced surface technologies with its extensive bioplastic and polyolefin film capabilities.

Strengthening the Value Chain

The acquisition incorporates STA’s assets, intellectual property, and manufacturing lines into Inteplast’s World-Pak division. STA has established a reputation for developing coatings that do not inhibit the recyclability or compostability of the substrate materials. By bringing STA under the Inteplast umbrella, the group aims to streamline the supply chain for converters and brand owners looking for “all-in-one” sustainable packaging solutions that require sophisticated surface treatments for print protection and aesthetic enhancement.

Key to this acquisition is STA’s proprietary technology in water-based and solvent-free adhesive coatings, which align with current regulatory pressures to reduce Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) in packaging production.
