Kingfa Presents Green Material Solutions at COP30
Kingfa Showcases Full-Chain Carbon Reduction Pathway at COP30
At COP30 in November 2025, Academician Li Jianjun of Kingfa Sci. & Tech. presented the company’s comprehensive green low-carbon advanced material solutions, contributing to the sustainable development of global industrial chains.
The presentation focused on Kingfa’s full-chain carbon reduction pathway for the plastics and materials industry, demonstrating how integrated material solutions can enable decarbonisation across manufacturing sectors.
Three-Pillar Carbon Strategy
Kingfa’s carbon neutrality approach rests on three interconnected pillars:
1. Bio-Based Feedstock Development
Replacing petrochemical feedstocks with bio-based alternatives through green biomanufacturing. Kingfa’s ECOPOND range of biodegradable compounds (PLA, PBAT, PBS, PGA) demonstrates the commercial viability of bio-based materials across packaging, agriculture, and consumer applications.
2. Recycled Content and Circular Economy
Expanding both mechanical and chemical recycling capacity to create closed-loop material flows. Kingfa targets 1 million tonnes/year of total recycling capacity globally, with flagship operations including the Montalbo chemical recycling facility in Spain (30,000 t/yr).
3. Lifecycle Carbon Footprint Calculation
Providing internationally certified low-carbon materials with end-to-end solutions covering recycling, product design, production, and traceability. Kingfa offers lifecycle carbon footprint calculation services to help value chain partners quantify and reduce their Scope 3 emissions.
China’s Carbon Neutrality Context
China has set ambitious targets: carbon peaking by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060. Biomanufacturing is emerging as a key solution in this transition — bio-based materials are eco-friendly and sustainable, produced through biochemical technologies with biocatalysis that can significantly reduce the carbon intensity of materials compared to petrochemical routes.
Kingfa’s presentation at COP30 positioned the company as a bridge between China’s national climate ambitions and the practical material solutions needed by global manufacturers to meet their own decarbonisation commitments.
Industry Recognition
Kingfa’s sustainability leadership has been recognised internationally. In December 2023, the company received the “Enterprise of the Year” Award on the Bloomberg Green ESG50 Outstanding List — the highest honour bestowed by the programme — standing out among hundreds of participating companies.
